When international industry meets at the 2026 Hannover Messe, one country in particular will take centre stage: Brazil – the fair’s official partner country. The Brazilian economy is in a period of dynamic modernisation. Digitisation, automation and functional safety are rapidly gaining in importance – and Pilz Brazil is right at the heart of it.
Brazil is one of South America’s most important industrial centres. The level of automation is rising continuously, particularly in the automotive, food, mining and pharmaceutical industries. At the same time, issues such as functional Safety and Security are becoming strategically more relevant.
Economic conditions – such as the tax reform planned for 2026 – are also driving investment in safe, modern production processes.
Pilz Brazil: Safety expertise for a demanding market
Pilz has been on the ground in Brazil since 1998, helping industries in a wide range of sectors to protect humans, machines and processes. Based in Indaiatuba (São Paulo) and employing around 50 staff, the subsidiary has become an important technology partner for local companies.

„Our strength lies in translating complex safety requirements into applicable, scalable solutions – always in line with international norms and standards.“
Paulo Fernandes, Managing Director of the Pilz subsidiary in Brazil
In recent years, Pilz Brazil has played an increasingly strategic role within the corporate group. The subsidiary has expanded its remit by becoming increasingly active in sectors that were not previously the focus of Pilz’s global activities – including the mining sector. This development shows how customised safety solutions can open up new fields of application, creating additional market opportunities and further consolidating the company’s position in key industries.

„We have assumed the responsibility for bringing Pilz’s expertise to emerging and challenging markets. That way we create added value – for our customers and for the company – and open up new avenues for action.“
Felipe Pereira, Head of the Pilz Academy in Brazil
Safe automation for demanding industrial environments
In the mining sector, one of Brazil’s most important industrial pillars, Pilz Brazil is setting new standards for safe automation. In a large-scale project with one of the country’s biggest mining companies, a company-wide policy document was produced, which defines the official machinery safety requirements for all sites. Building on this, Pilz Brazil was awarded a nationwide contract for risk assessment and safety design, under which several thousand machines have already been recorded, assessed, documented and integrated into structured compliance processes.
Thanks to this systematic and continuous development of machinery and safety concepts, Pilz Brazil has emerged as a globally recognised partner for safety in mining. The methods and results developed as part of the project are now also attracting attention in international mining projects – a testament to the technical, normative and practical standards Pilz pursues in demanding industrial environments.
Strong growth – and ideally positioned for the future
Pilz Brazil has developed remarkably in recent years. Since 2020, the company has been able to:
- triple its turnover,
- achieve double-digit annual growth and
- forecast a further increase of 15% over the previous year in 2026.
This dynamic confirms the increasing importance of safe automation in Brazil and the strategic contribution Pilz is making.
Outlook: Safety as a competitive advantage
Brazil is modernising its industry. Companies are investing in automation, digital infrastructure and functional safety in order to become more efficient, more productive and internationally competitive.
Pilz Brazil is a reliable partner in this transition – with technology, consulting and a clear mission: safety for human, machine and digital processes.

Energy & sustainability: Which resource makes Brazil an important location for sustainable industrial and energy projects?
The solution:
Brazil is one of the world’s largest producers of bioethanol – a key driver for industry, logistics and modern production plants.
Safety with humour: Which unusual measure is used in São Paulo to help pedestrians cross the road safely?
The solution:
In São Paulo, there are actually traffic lights on which “green men” dance the samba – a charming Brazilian idea to attract attention and make crossing safer. Safety with rhythm!
