Today\u2019s machinery must be even more flex\u00adible to operate because assembly times are expected to be shorter, while the number of com\u00adpo\u00adnents to be installed is con\u00adstantly increasing. This calls for flex\u00adi\u00adbility in the way machinery inter\u00adacts, which cur\u00adrent tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies must sup\u00adport. The key\u00adwords are: plug-and-play wiring, and a range of up to 20 metres from the IO-Link Safety Master to the first sensor or con\u00adtrol unit in the field.
