The Nether\u00adlands is working hard on inno\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive and sus\u00adtain\u00adable solu\u00adtions in order to achieve the United Nations\u2019 Sus\u00adtain\u00adable Devel\u00adop\u00adment Goals (SDGs), which aim to tackle global chal\u00adlenges such as poverty, social inequality or cli\u00admate change. The country also sup\u00adports other coun\u00adtries in achieving these global goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nether\u00adlands is very active in the field of sus\u00adtain\u00adability: the country is making progress, par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlarly in areas such as cli\u00admate pro\u00adtec\u00adtion, clean water, the pro\u00advi\u00adsion of afford\u00adable, clean energy, and respon\u00adsible con\u00adsump\u00adtion and pro\u00adduc\u00adtion. Nev\u00ader\u00adthe\u00adless, achieving all the sus\u00adtain\u00adability goals remains a chal\u00adlenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Improved infrastructure of bridges and sluices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Pilz sub\u00adsidiary is also com\u00admitted to sus\u00adtain\u00adable busi\u00adness prac\u00adtices. At its head\u00adquar\u00adters in Vianen, 48 employees work on inno\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive and sus\u00adtain\u00adable automa\u00adtion solu\u00adtions to mod\u00adernise bridges and sluices. Working with end cus\u00adtomers and other part\u00adners in the supply chain, proven and new tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies are com\u00adbined to extend the ser\u00advice life of energy and trans\u00adport infra\u00adstruc\u00adture in the Nether\u00adlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pilz employees in the Nether\u00adlands work together with end cus\u00adtomers and other part\u00adners to improve bridges and sluices, so that they have a longer life\u00adcycle. After its foun\u00adda\u00adtion in 1990, the Pilz sub\u00adsidiary focused heavily on prod\u00aducts. Over time, the site in Vianen devel\u00adoped into a ser\u00advice and market-ori\u00adented organ\u00adi\u00adsa\u00adtion with its own busi\u00adness units, spe\u00adcial\u00adising in bridges, sluices, rail\u00adways and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most recently, hydrogen has been on the Pilz agenda. Employees in the Nether\u00adlands use their exper\u00adtise to help their cus\u00adtomers con\u00advert to hydrogen as an energy source, safe\u00adguarding hydrogen refu\u00adelling sta\u00adtions, for example. Pilz cre\u00adates a holistic safety con\u00adcept with its cus\u00adtomers and accom\u00adpa\u00adnies every step of imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion, so that the cus\u00adtomer\u2019s employees can work safely with the explo\u00adsive ele\u00adment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability is also practised internally<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pilz Nether\u00adlands is set\u00adting a good example inter\u00adnally: from reusable coffee cups and employee health pro\u00admo\u00adtion to plug-in hybrids as com\u00adpany vehi\u00adcles, which are charged with solar power. The Pilz sub\u00adsidiary also sup\u00adports bee pop\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions through its green wild\u00adflower meadows sur\u00adrounding the building and the pro\u00admo\u00adtion of bee\u00adkeepers, who are trained directly in-house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thinking of the future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pilz Nether\u00adlands plans to get involved in more hydrogen appli\u00adca\u00adtions and is increasing its efforts to digi\u00adtise its rail tech\u00adnology and make it future-proof. Employees of the Busi\u00adness Unit Rail in the Nether\u00adlands are working on sev\u00aderal inter\u00adna\u00adtional projects in India and Europe, including coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with the Dutch gov\u00adern\u00adment to con\u00adnect the rail net\u00adwork to the Euro\u00adpean EULYNX net\u00adwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
