The aim is to sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcantly reduce CO\u2082 emis\u00adsions without jeop\u00adar\u00addising industry\u2019s com\u00adpet\u00adi\u00adtive\u00adness. More effi\u00adcient machine processes, for example, mean that safe automa\u00adtion solu\u00adtions con\u00adtribute sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcantly towards greater sus\u00adtain\u00adability within com\u00adpa\u00adnies, and there\u00adfore towards achieving cli\u00admate goals. Acci\u00addents and machine break\u00addowns can also be avoided through the use of safety prod\u00aducts. This not only reduces the risk to human and machine, but also pre\u00advents pro\u00adduc\u00adtion down\u00adtimes, which are often asso\u00adci\u00adated with high energy and resource con\u00adsump\u00adtion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By mon\u00adi\u00adtoring and con\u00adtrol\u00adling processes, safety prod\u00aducts can also ensure that over\u00adloads or crit\u00adical plant states, such as a broken shearpin due to excess speed, are avoided. This leads to more effi\u00adcient use of energy and mate\u00adrials, and extends the ser\u00advice life of plant and machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Energy storage technologies and their high level of safety<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safety solu\u00adtions also help to pre\u00advent leaks and other envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtally dam\u00adaging inci\u00addents. This is essen\u00adtial, for example, when pro\u00adducing and han\u00addling hydrogen. The energy car\u00adrier is a key com\u00adpo\u00adnent in the future energy system. For example, as part of its national hydrogen strategy, the German fed\u00aderal gov\u00adern\u00adment has increased the planned elec\u00adtrol\u00adysis capacity for the pro\u00adduc\u00adtion of (green) hydrogen to almost 10 gigawatts by 2030. How\u00adever, the actual avail\u00adable capacity is cur\u00adrently sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcantly lower, amounting to around 66 megawatts in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bat\u00adteries are also regarded as a key com\u00adpo\u00adnent for the energy tran\u00adsi\u00adtion. Pilz estab\u00adlished its Repair Centre as early as 2002, where defec\u00adtive Pilz devices can be prop\u00aderly repaired and then reused at the same quality. Around 6&nbsp;000 devices per year are restored to their full func\u00adtion\u00adality there. At the end of the product life\u00adcycle, the Pilz sub\u00adsidiaries take care of dis\u00adposal.
