Secu\u00adrity is now a topic in industry: \u201cIn almost every com\u00adpany, the topic of Indus\u00adtrial Secu\u00adrity is of great interest.\u201d This is the obser\u00adva\u00adtion of Andreas Willert, Head of Indus\u00adtrial Secu\u00adrity at Pilz Aus\u00adtria. Pilz Aus\u00adtria began to raise aware\u00adness in industry sev\u00aderal years ago with infor\u00adma\u00adtional events, free webi\u00adnars and pod\u00adcasts. \u201cCon\u00adtin\u00aduous infor\u00adma\u00adtion and training as well as the cre\u00adation of aware\u00adness are the key to enforcing the topic of Indus\u00adtrial Secu\u00adrity,\u201d agrees Alessio Ragni, Secu\u00adrity expert at Pilz in Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andreas Willert sees clear dif\u00adfer\u00adences between indi\u00advidual indus\u00adtries and sec\u00adtors: \u201cLarge com\u00adpa\u00adnies are well aware of the need for action; they are informed, have in-depth exper\u00adtise and have pro\u00adgressed far in their prepara\u00adtory stage. Most of the small and medium-sized enter\u00adprises are aware that some\u00adthing \u2018major\u2019 is headed their way, but they do not have the know-how and thus many ques\u00adtions remain unan\u00adswered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A need for action resulting from laws<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is less the real fear of cyber crim\u00adi\u00adnals, which is truly present, though felt to be abstract, that induces a com\u00adpany to con\u00adcretely grapple with the topic of Secu\u00adrity,\u201d explains Bernd Eisen\u00adhuth. Instead, the new or coming legal require\u00adments of the Machinery Reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion, NIS 2 and Cyber Resilience Act are the impetus for many com\u00adpa\u00adnies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One goal, many tasks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ulti\u00admately, the goal is always being able to main\u00adtain busi\u00adness oper\u00ada\u00adtions, but the path to this goal is rid\u00addled with a variety of chal\u00adlenges that com\u00adpa\u00adnies must face: This ranges from the iden\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion of the valid legal require\u00adments and the detec\u00adtion and rec\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion of weak points in sys\u00adtems, to raising aware\u00adness of and training employees, and to sub\u00adse\u00adquent enforce\u00adment of con\u00adtrols. Because Secu\u00adrity is a goal that is con\u00adstantly changing, a reg\u00adular check of the Indus\u00adtrial Secu\u00adrity status of machinery is also nec\u00ades\u00adsary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
