What is your current job?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sezgin Yumuk:<\/strong> I am the Head of the Con\u00adtrollers and Relay divi\u00adsion in Product Man\u00adage\u00adment. My team and I are respon\u00adsible for market launches of new prod\u00aducts and tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies such as IO-Link Safety, for example. But I also work with new busi\u00adness models, dis\u00adcuss new ideas and sug\u00adges\u00adtions from cus\u00adtomers, assess them and incor\u00adpo\u00adrate them into the roadmap with my team. My team is made up of twelve people. We are the con\u00adtact point for the sub\u00adsidiaries and pre\u00adpare market launches, for example. In market devel\u00adop\u00adment teams, we work closely with Mar\u00adketing and Cus\u00adtomer Sup\u00adport, but in par\u00adtic\u00adular with Product Man\u00adage\u00adment, for instance for pricing. One impor\u00adtant topic is digi\u00adti\u00adsa\u00adtion in Sales. I found the appren\u00adtice\u00adship to become a mecha\u00adtronics engi\u00adneer very inter\u00adesting because it is so wide-ranging. You learn some of every\u00adthing. After that I was extremely inter\u00adested in the appli\u00adca\u00adtions: What do our prod\u00aducts do? Where are they used? What do our cus\u00adtomers do? So I moved to Cus\u00adtomer Sup\u00adport, where I pro\u00advided tech\u00adnical sup\u00adport to our cus\u00adtomers all around the world, which also included com\u00admis\u00adsion\u00adings or training. Par\u00adallel to working, I also com\u00adpleted my training as an engi\u00adneer. Because I was highly familiar with the prod\u00aducts, the move to Product Man\u00adage\u00adment was an easy one. What were your key moments, Steffen?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Steffen Heber<\/strong>:<\/strong> I joined Pilz by way of a work expe\u00adri\u00adence place\u00adment and a hol\u00adiday job. My first key moment was right at the begin\u00adning, when I was helping in Pro\u00adduc\u00adtion. Friday after\u00adnoons the former owner and Man\u00adaging Director Renate Pilz, who has since retired, would reg\u00adu\u00adlarly come to Pro\u00adduc\u00adtion and take the time to talk to the people \u2013 even with me in my hol\u00adiday job. That really impressed me and per\u00adsuaded me to com\u00adplete my appren\u00adtice\u00adship as a mecha\u00adtronics engi\u00adneer here. A second, more impor\u00adtant incen\u00adtive was the encour\u00adage\u00adment by a depart\u00adment head to keep going after com\u00adpleting my appren\u00adtice\u00adship. It was only then that I went back to get my sec\u00adondary-school leaving qual\u00adi\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion, the Abitur, com\u00adpleted a dual study pro\u00adgramme as an indus\u00adtrial engi\u00adneer and then finally received my master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My semester abroad in China while studying was also an espe\u00adcially cru\u00adcial key moment. But it\u2019s true! It is impor\u00adtant to try things. Everyone has strengths and weak\u00adnesses. You have to recog\u00adnise them and con\u00adtinue to work on your\u00adself. My tip: take off your blinders and observe what is hap\u00adpening around you.
