If you look at the number of robot appli\u00adca\u00adtions world\u00adwide, then Spain is in the leading group. Where mobile robotics are con\u00adcerned, since this tech\u00adnology was devel\u00adoped, Spain has been one of the Euro\u00adpean coun\u00adtries with the most man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adturers of auto\u00admated guided vehicle sys\u00adtems (AGVS). In the last ten years alone, the number of Spanish com\u00adpa\u00adnies spe\u00adcial\u00adising in mobile robotics has grown by more than 40 per cent. So it is only log\u00adical that Pilz Spain has an expert team dealing 100 per cent with mobile robot appli\u00adca\u00adtions. ISO 3691\u20134 cre\u00adates a clear and defined frame of ref\u00ader\u00adence for the safety of AGVS and is adapted to the tech\u00adno\u00adlog\u00adical devel\u00adop\u00adments, e.g. to the increas\u00adingly pop\u00adular free nav\u00adi\u00adga\u00adtion sys\u00adtems or autonomous mobile robots (AMR). How\u00adever, it obliges the man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adturer to intro\u00adduce new safety con\u00adcepts or update existing ones, as it defines up to 27 safety func\u00adtions (com\u00adpared to ten in the pre\u00advious direc\u00adtive). The stan\u00addard defines a clas\u00adsi\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion based on warning and pro\u00adtec\u00adtion zones, cor\u00adre\u00adsponding to the var\u00adious risks for AGVS (dis\u00adtances, pres\u00adence of people, \u2026).
