Can you plan such a development?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thomas Pilz:<\/strong> It was always a planned, con\u00adscious trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion \u2013 first from glass appa\u00adratus man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adturing to relays, then to con\u00adtroller man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adturer \u2013 to the dig\u00adital Safety and Indus\u00adtrial Secu\u00adrity experts of today. Change and inno\u00adva\u00adtion are part of our DNA. That\u2019s why we were always able to focus on the chal\u00adlenges and become the com\u00adpany we are today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Susanne Kun\u00adschert:<\/strong> When our father died unex\u00adpect\u00adedly, our mother con\u00adtinued his entre\u00adpre\u00adneurial legacy. He had written down his vision, his roadmap; that sus\u00adtained the com\u00adpany. Our mother then devel\u00adoped Pilz from an automa\u00adtion com\u00adpany to an automa\u00adtion spe\u00adcialist with Safety as its core com\u00adpe\u00adtency. She has the gift of being able to listen incred\u00adibly well. To hear the direc\u00adtion cus\u00adtomers want to go in, and pick up on how mate\u00adrials change. She also has an unerring sense of where the future lies. Under her man\u00adage\u00adment, Pilz has become increas\u00adingly inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adalised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-default\">\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-medium is-style-rounded\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pilz-magazine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2023\/08\/Renate_Pilz_Portrait_4178_3c_900x900-300x300.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-1432\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe want to work for one another \u2013 everyone together for the cus\u00adtomer.\u201d<\/p>\n<cite><strong>Renate Pilz<\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-default\">\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In your opinion, what were the key factors for Pilz\u2019s success?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thomas Pilz:<\/strong> We addressed the issues seri\u00adously. Once we have iden\u00adti\u00adfied what to do, imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion fol\u00adlows directly at Pilz. For example, we iden\u00adti\u00adfied early on that the engi\u00adneering require\u00adments laid down by leg\u00adis\u00adla\u00adtion are very dif\u00adfi\u00adcult to imple\u00adment using con\u00adven\u00adtional tech\u00adnology. So we acted and, with the world\u2019s first safety relay PNOZ, pro\u00advided our cus\u00adtomers with a better tech\u00adnology, because it is easier to handle. Our employees play a key part because they are our fellow entre\u00adpre\u00adneurs. They act on behalf of the cus\u00adtomer. That\u2019s why we stand here now as market leaders for func\u00adtional safety, as an automa\u00adtion com\u00adpany, as a partner for engi\u00adneering and for multi\u00adna\u00adtional con\u00adsumer goods man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adturers. We have devel\u00adoped that together. Because with many things, we just did it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Susanne Kun\u00adschert:<\/strong> My brother has put it beau\u00adti\u00adfully. We have this curiosity that drives us on, and the joy of inno\u00adva\u00adtion, com\u00adbined with our con\u00adstant activity. That has car\u00adried us for\u00adward. Our resilience, our togeth\u00ader\u00adness and the values that con\u00adnect us, our busi\u00adness cul\u00adture; all of this has brought us to where we are today. Because we are a coura\u00adgeous com\u00adpany, and a pow\u00aderful, strong com\u00adpany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do you see your automation company at the moment? We are com\u00admitted to envi\u00adron\u00admental pro\u00adtec\u00adtion, we develop new mate\u00adrials. We are helping to shape digi\u00adti\u00adsa\u00adtion. I\u2019d like to say, to modify a state\u00adment from Pro\u00adfessor Baldur Kirchner: \u201cTo digi\u00adtise others, you first ought to learn to digi\u00adtise your\u00adself\u201d. I think we have achieved this with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilz.com\/en-INT\/products\/relay-modules\/modular-safety-relays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">myPNOZ, the first mod\u00adular safety relay in batch size 1<\/a>, with the cor\u00adre\u00adsponding soft\u00adware tool myPNOZ Cre\u00adator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can see the cur\u00adrent chal\u00adlenge on the market, that there can be no digi\u00adti\u00adsa\u00adtion without cyber\u00adse\u00adcu\u00adrity, and no cyber\u00adse\u00adcu\u00adrity without a holistic Indus\u00adtrial Secu\u00adrity Man\u00adage\u00adment System. That\u2019s why the triad of Secu\u00adrity, Automa\u00adtion and Safety are quite clearly enshrined at Pilz. Safety is our strength. This comes into its own in automa\u00adtion. We address <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilz.com\/en-INT\/products\/industrial-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indus\u00adtrial Secu\u00adrity<\/a> at the machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Susanne Kun\u00adschert:<\/strong> We have been working on the issue of Secu\u00adrity for fif\u00adteen years already. Six years ago, we launched our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilz.com\/en-INT\/products\/networks\/fieldbus-and-ethernet-systems\/securitybridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Secu\u00adri\u00adty\u00adBridge indus\u00adtrial fire\u00adwall<\/a>, because even then we were aware that Safety must also be pro\u00adtected. Our devel\u00adop\u00adment is also secure. We are con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00adally working on the issues of Automa\u00adtion and Secu\u00adrity, with Safety as the core com\u00adpe\u00adtency. That\u2019s the beauty of it. We\u2019re standing on such a foun\u00adda\u00adtion because we have always started on these issues at the right time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have always cared about envi\u00adron\u00admental pro\u00adtec\u00adtion too, because my brother and I have always really embraced nature in our heart. They are expressed in the togeth\u00ader\u00adness, inter\u00adac\u00adtion, trust, reli\u00ada\u00adbility and help\u00adful\u00adness at Pilz. I have to say, that\u2019s why you really notice the values within the com\u00adpany. They guide us daily.
